Asko Front Loading Washing Machine

by Dan
(Louisiana, USA )

I have an Asko washing machine. The front loading feature, and the energy and water efficiency are very nice; these are the things that made me get this washing machine. It’s also very small, and stacks with a dryer on top to fit in a fairly small area.

The capacity seems fairly good. With a front-loading machine, you can fill the machine fairly fully, although if you do completely stuff it until you can’t add any more, there are some problems with washing, as the clothes don’t have space to move. Pretty full is ok, though, and this is probably more than most people would think.

There are some problems, however:

1) The cycle time for a full load is very long.

2) There doesn't seem to be a cold enough temperature.

3) The motor recently broke, and getting a new one tool a while.

4) Some of the plastic facing (near the detergent loading area) has broken off - this is not needed, but it looks odd without it.

I don’t have any experience with the customer support from the company; I have just dealt with washing repair people who are independent. I've had this machine for 3 years, after having had only American brands before, but the Swedish machine is fairly good. As previously mentioned, it is better than my old ones in terms of size, energy usage, and water usage, and it is worse in terms of cycle time, temperature, and reliability, as my I haven’t had any substantial problems with my American machines in the past in such a short period of ownership.
