Bought a Maytag 6600 washer & dryer end of 2007Dec.-Jan.2008. The machines have every option you don't need. It doesn't wash the clothes clean and constantly goes out of balance.

Now the dryer same model and make second batch of clothes,the motor burned up and had to be replaced,and it still keeps kicking out the breaker circuit.

Called electrican out to check all my electrical before reporting the dryers actions to the dealer. Had electric check motor it was still getting too hot,and drawing too much current.He said it looked like to him the machine should have a biigger motor.

We have always had Maytag's in the past and never had any problems. In fact I have a 1985 machine in the garage that still works. The new washing machine will wash a pair of my work pants with dirt & stains and you can still see the dirt & stains. I put dirty clothes in the old machine and they come out clean ofcorse the old washer has the central agitater in it so that kind pounds the dirt out.

I guess the new washer & dryer are just for apartment dwellers that don't sweat or get dirty.Then also I heard maytag is being built by Whirlpool, so maybe thats why the quality is down. Really a shame.I WOULD NEVER HAVE ANOTHER MAYTAG IF THEY GAVE IT TO ME'''
