Frigidaire (Electrolux) high-efficiency washer, model FTF530FS0

I have a Frigidaire (Electrolux) high-efficiency washer, model FTF530FS0. The best feature about this washer for me is that it is front-loading.

When I decided to buy my own washer (I used the laundromat before), I wanted one that was simple to use, wouldn't consume much water or electricity, and had a good price.

This unit was a steal at $400 on sale (when included with $400 dryer). It has a slide-out tray with separate slots for detergent, liquid bleach, and fabric softener all marked, so you won't forget.

One knob selects water temperature with three options: cold/cold, warm/cold, and hot/cold. It also has a buzzer you can set on silent or in a range between quiet and loud; even on quiet, I can hear it anywhere in the house.

It also has an option for an extra rinse cycle. I don't like to program alot of electronics, so I'm happy with the normal push/pull knob to select between two basic cycles: regular and delicate. The regular does include a heavy wash time, when it's needed.

This washer was given the energy star, and claims to only use 126 kWh/year. In our area, it will cost me less than eleven dollars a year.

I also haven't noticed an increase in my water bill because it uses half the water that a top-loading would. It has a 3.1 cubic ft. capacity, and it can be filled to capacity; the clothes still come out clean!

I also like that there's no agitator which usually causes more wear on my clothes. I bought the washer in February this year and haven't had any problems other than making sure it was level.

At first, it really rocked around, but once the feet were leveled, I was really impressed at how quietly it works.

The only negative, I would say, is that the tray and knobs require careful movement; they don't seem that sturdy.
