Frigidaire GLTF1670AS0 Front load washer

I own a Frigidaire GLTF1670AS0 front load washer. I really like the front load aspect, I have another washer that is a top load and I don't like how I often bang my hands on the agitator thing in the center when unloading it.

The top load is a Whirlpool "heavy Duty" washer - not sure of model number, it is at least 18 years old and has actually given me no problems, other than the aforementioned "hand banging".

We bought the front load for the stacking aspect, since it would be used in more of a closet area.
The capacity of the front load is pretty large, of course I probably overload it! That brings about the only problems I've had with it - sometimes I'll find the towels are still soaking wet and the water has not drained, so I have to run it through the spin cycle again, and the way the knob it set up it's not really clear exactly where that point is.

On a couple of occasions I have noticed that it gets "stuck" in one cycle and just keeps going until I manually "nudge" the button a little to the next cycle. I also sometimes have been inconvenienced by the fact that the door lock feature sometimes won't go off soon enough for me and I get impatient when in a hurry to pull something out that I need, with my top load I can easily get to something since I can open the lid at any time.

I've had the front load for about 5 years and have never had a serious enough problem to call for service. The top load one has never been serviced either! As for preferring one over the other, it's hard to say - probably the front load for the physical aspect of not having to bend over down into the tub - but that top load one of mine is a real workhorse, and with four boys I appreciate that!

But one BIG thing I don't like about my top load model is that there is no "buzzer" when it's done to remind me to switch the clothes to the dryer - I know I could just listen for when it stops - but who thinks about that? You tend to tune it out - I need the "buzzer"!
