GE Washing Machine # WCVH6260

I bought this washer a little more than 3 years ago to replace a Whirlpool Calypso washer that was a total wreck, lasting less than 4 years.
I've always had GE or Hotpoint appliances, and was pleased with them. So I bought this model, and it's no better than the Whirlpool.
Being gushy, I bought a service contract on it, and made so many calls for so many problems that about 6 months ago the washer was pretty much completely overhauled.
Then this week it wouldn't spin fast enough to remove enough water from the load so I could dry it. Of course the service contract is now up.
I sucked it up and called a repairman who found the shocks needed replacing (again) and something that tells the motor how fast to spin the tub needs replacing, to the tune of $650.
So I'll be buying yet another washer (I've never asked either washer to do anything it wasn't designed to do).
I'm thinking I'll just get a cheapie and when it breaks I won't feel so bad. These machines are supposed to be money savers, but it seems the savings end up going into repairs.
