GE Washing Machine WCXR1070A

The Extra Load Capacity, 7-Cycle, Heavy Duty Washing Machine WCXR1070A by General Electric is a well-made, hard working appliance.

I bought this machine in 2002 and even though I average approximately ten large loads and two small loads of wash each week, I have yet to encounter any problems. I have been very happy with my washing machine and have every intention of purchasing a similar model when the day finally comes that I need to replace this fantastic machine.

When searching for a new washing machine I was intent on finding an appliance that was top loading, had a large load capacity, was reasonably priced and was built by a company with proven reliability. I picked this particular model because a company I trusted built it, I wanted a white appliance to match my white dryer, it had the attributes that I was looking for and the price was reasonable.

The machine is simple to operate with clear, easy to read dials and concise instructions readily available on the inside of the lid. Using only 797 kWh per year, this appliance is also energy efficient, consuming only a few cents per load to operate.

While the machine boasts that it has ‘an extra load’ capacity size my previous washing machine (Hot Point) held at least half a load more than the GE model. However the Hot Point also used more water and electricity to operate so I find the inconvenience of washing an additional load is worth it for the money that is saved using the GE.
