I currently own a Kenmore 80 Series Super Capacity Plus washing machine, model number 3356472. I have owned this model for approximately ten years and am quite satisfied with its performance. The Kenmore 80 Series washing machine is, first and foremost, a workhorse.

The plain white exterior and straightforward dial settings will never make the Kenmore 80 series a thing of beauty, but for those consumers who simply want to wash clothes without making a fashion statement about how they do so, this is the washing machine for them.

The Kenmore 80 offers consumers an impressive number of choices. One can choose from hand wash, delicate, normal, and heavy duty cycles. That flexibility is impressive. I have washed very delicate items on the hand wash setting with no ill effects. I have also jammed the large capacity barrel full of filthy blue jeans, and the heavy duty setting left them truly clean.

In addition to the cycle options, Kenmore 80 owners can choose the duration of the cycle itself--short and extra long options are available. Users can also choose prewash and soak cycles for tough laundry jobs. In the decade I have owned the Kenmore Series 80 it has never failed. That was hardly the case with the Maytag machine I previously owned.

I purchased the Maytag new, and it began to malfunction after less than one year. First, the fill mechanism refused to switch off, which caused the barrel to overflow on more than one occasion. Moreover, the machine's wash and spin cycles were shockingly noisy, a problem I have never experienced with the Kenmore 80.

The Maytag offered fewer cycle options as well. The wide array of wash options and extreme durability of the Kenmore 80 series make it the best washing machine I have ever owned.
