LG WM0642HW front load washers - I don't need no steam&heater.What i need is more water & a lint filter installed.

I miss the front load washers from years ago.I have an LG WM0642HW and i don't even use the other cycles except Normal. I don't have any laundry that i have to boil wash or delicates.

The washers weak points i strongly believe are is too low water level and weak discharge pump.That pumps discharge rate is so low volume that it can easily get waterlogged.I firmly believe that if LG had put in a stronger water pump, so much dependence on HE detergent wouldn't be necessary.I don't understand why designs have to be so complicated.A sensor for this a sensor for that.The washer is a plastic tub,steel cylinder,motor and some hoses.

Another thing i discovered is that the heating element only works on the Sanitary cycle.The vague written description makes one think it will regulate the warm or hot water temperature because the water level is so low that warm may be almost be cold in the cylinder.I'm not going to run the washer for almost two hours for a heating element. So that feature is useless. If LG is going to have a heater in in the washer, have it work for something other than one cycle.

I really thought about how could i fill up the washer cylinder to justify running a long sanitary cycle.I didn't have a load of filthy clothing laying around stinking up the house that needed that kind of washing.I thought about bed linens, but in 40+ years i never had a bowel movement "UP IN MY BED NOW"! What i do need is a lint filter.That the washer doesn't have.I guess if it had a lint filter you'd need to have some water in it.That this washer doesn't have alot of.

I've heard about worn bearings will bring the end to a washer.This is 2010. We have automotive wheel bearings that last years and years,with the exception of my Ford Escort wheel bearings,jet engine turbofan bearings but we have a washing machine bearing that is made vulnerable and we are to be grateful if it should last 5 years.Most of us want to tumble underwear,jeans,towels in some water and spin them out.

The biggest disappointment of all is the acceptance of the new washer models of Boxes on Pedistils and cups of water wash methods.I guess i'm old fashioned but i much prefer the traditional rear controls front loader that dropped your clothing through some water or sprayed them while tumbling.

I guarantee you with all the care i use with this washer and wiping down, it will still not last as long as the front loaders i've used in the late 60s and 70s.All of this talk about the environment and saving resources.How can i save anything if i have to keep rewashing items after laundry has plopped around in cups of water for an hour and are marginally rinsed.

Washer repairs that almost equal the cost of a new washer.Sensors or computer parts that require a service call and the part itself is a small fortune.This is a Washing Machine LG, were not designing a new Widebody L-1011 Whisperliner.
