I purchased the set in December.My clothes started coming out smelling like mildew. When I called LG,they described all the maintenance that this machine requires. The gasket inside the washer collects water and needs to be dried out after each wash. The hose on the front of the machine needs to be emptied twice a month (to empty smelly water).

Also, once a month you need to run the washer empty with 3 tablespoons of bleach for one hour and 25 minutes. LG does not consider any of this defects. None of my other appliances require this amount of work.

Also, when I purchased the machine I was told about the energy savings(in six months, we have yet to see any). What I do see is that one load of laundry takes an hour to do. In the time, I used to get two loads washed, I now get one and my 14 year old Maytag top loader got the clothes just as clean (actually they smelled much better).

The washer is very noisy. We now have to close the laundry room door to hear the T.V. two rooms away. This was the worst buying decision I have made in 14 years and an expensive one at that!! LG does not care, nor do they stand behind their product.
