Maytag 2 speed large capacity washer

My name is Lori, I live in Colorado, and I thought I would share with you an epiphany I had this morning while doing the dreaded Saturday morning chores. Amazing isn't it? How we just take some things for granted? How we just expect some things to work? And when they finally do break down we are at a loss? I have an old Maytag 2 speed large capacity washer that hasn't known new for at least 20 years.

I bought it for it's simplicity. Very basic washer. 2 speeds 3 load sizes, 3 temperatures. Something my kids could use without too much trouble. I honestly don't remember what kind of washer I had prior to this one, I just know that I had moved to a new house and needed a new washer/dryer.

When I purchased this washer I didn't think of how it would perform in 20 years, or that I would even have it in 20 years. It was new, affordable and a brand I knew and trusted. Who doesn't remember the lonely Maytag repairman commercials?
And yet....I went down to load that washer this morning and I realized.....it has never broken down, never needed a repair, works just as well today as the day I bought it. Need I say more?
